Free Tai Chi for Better Sleep Program Begins August 13 at Faith Community Church

Faith Community Church of Coopersville is offering a FREE Tai Chi for Better Sleep program beginning Thursday, August 13, and continuing through December 17, 2026. Classes will be held each week from 3:00 pm at 105 68th Ave. N., Coopersville.

This evidence-based program combines the benefits of Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention with Sleep Education for Everyone. Research has shown that Tai Chi can help increase strength, improve balance, reduce the risk of falls, and enhance overall well-being. Participants will also learn practical strategies to improve both the quality and quantity of their sleep.

The program is designed for adults of all ability levels. Tai Chi movements can be performed either standing or seated, making the class accessible to those with varying levels of mobility.

Each session includes:

  • Tai Chi warm-ups

  • Tai Chi instruction

  • Tai Chi cool-down exercises

  • Sleep education covers the relationship between pain and sleep, healthy sleep habits, and techniques to improve sleep

  • Personal goal setting

The class is free, but registration is required. Participants are encouraged to sign up online before the program begins.
