Ash Wednesday invites us to slow down, tell the truth, and return to God. As we are marked with ashes, we remember that we are dust—and deeply loved. Guided by the words of Psalm 130, “Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord,” we begin Lent not by striving, but by surrender. From the depths, we begin.
